Research: Interactions

A session at the Nafferton Ecological Farm involving scientist, farmers, agro-processors/ consumers  on Spelt and Rye reiterated the need for scientific research to be beneficial to the end user and not just be for academic purposes.

Data and information from research should be available and practical for farmers to implement to ensure high yields with reduced environmental impacts (Sustainable Intensification).

Agro-processors and Consumers who are the final users of the produce are also in this loop in terms of health and nutrition.

Research on agricultural innovation, aquaculture, crop and livestock systems, rural education, food nutrition and security, biofuels and climate change and action with a core mandate aimed at providing policy relevant solutions to farmers and all along the agriculture value chain right through to the consumer.
